Parable of treasure

Parable of treasure   Matthew 13:44  『 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hidden in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. 』 Regarding this statement, people may misunderstand that they can buy heaven by selling everything they have. When the disciples asked Jesus,  “ Why do you speak in parables? ”  Jesus answered, He said,  “ To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. ” This is to hide it from some people and reveal it to others. Regarding the subject of hidden secrets, Matthew 13:14-15 says,  “ And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see...

Peter's Confession

Peter's Confession   In Mark 8:27-29, when Jesus asked his disciples,  “ Who do people think I am? ”  they answered,  “ Some say he is Elijah, and others say he is one of the prophets. ”  When Jesus asked his disciples,  “ Who do you think I am? ”  Peter confessed to Jesus,  “ You are the Son of God. ”  However, Jesus is saying that after suffering and being killed, he will be raised again on the third day. Peter suddenly rebelled against what Jesus said. In other words, you should not die. Peter grabbed Jesus and protested. A more detailed defense appears in Matthew 16:22-23.  『 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offense unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. 』 Because Peter does something like denying the work of God for a moment, the moment S...

Centurion's Faith

Centurion's Faith   (Matthew 8:5-13) And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, and saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus said to him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west. , and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of te...

Martha and Mary

Martha and Mary   Luke 10:38-42  『 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and she came to him, and she said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from  』 Jesus had previously raised Lazarus from the dead. Going back to the situation at that time, in a poor neighborhood called  『 Bethany 』 , a man named  『 Lazarus 』 , the older brother of Martha and Mary, died. At that time, Martha, Lazarus' sister, came to Jesus. Jesus was delayed by other matters and arrived late at Bemartha's ho...

Five loaves and two fish

Five loaves and two fish   Mark 6:41-44 『 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided him among them all. And they did all eat, and were filled. And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes. And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men. 』 Jesus heals a demon-possessed man, raises the dead daughter of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue, frees a woman who had suffered from an issue of hemorrhage for twelve years, calms the wind, and heals people with withered hands, paralytics, and lepers. Many people came to see Jesus. So Jesus continued teaching the people without even having time to eat, and it was evening. When the disciples came to Jesus and asked if they should give them something to eat as the day was getting late, Jesus said,  “ You give them something to eat. ”  Howeve...

Lamp on lampstand

Lamp on lampstand   Mark 4:21-23  『 And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? For there is nothing hidden, which shall not be manifest; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. If any man has ears to hear, let him hear. 』 Expressed from the first day to the seventh day in Genesis chapter 1, it is divided into light, firmament, land (seed), Maor, bird (sea), beast (man), and rest. This can be applied by connecting it with the terminology of the sanctuary and the contents of the Gospel of John and the Book of Revelation. On the fourth day, Maor is like a lampstand. The Book of Revelation refers to the seven stars (messengers of the seven churches). The seven stars represent those who spread the gospel (saints). Saints become like stars who believe in present-day resurrection. In Chapter 7 of the Gospel of John, Jesus talks about Jews who cannot recognize the light. So in chap...

A bloody husband art thou to me.

A bloody husband art thou to me.   Exodus 4:24-25 『 And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him. Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet her, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me. 』 If we look at chapter 4 verse 24 again in Hebrew, According to the Hebrew Bible, Haya( וַיְהִ֥י ) is the name that Jehovah God gave to Moses. It is a name that means  “ I exist. ”  God directly reveals his name. Derek( דֶּ֖רֶךְ ) is derived from the word attic (to step, walk) and means a path, symbolically a journey of life, or a pattern of action, and as an adverb it means ~ therefore, apart, because, through, towards. Maron( מָּלֹ֑ון ) has the meaning of campsite, inn, etc. In the Old Testament, the tabernacle has also been used as a concept for a sanctuary. Pagash( פְגְּשֵׁ֣הוּ ) means to meet or con...

Parable of talents

Parable of talents   Matthew 25:14-30  『 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods his. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several abilities; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And similarly he had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and dug in the earth, and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful. servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many thin...
